The Punta Grande hotel, in El Hierro, figures in the Guinness World Records book as the smallest hotel in the world. With no more than 600m2 dedicated and a height of 9m., this hotel has a very reduced capacity for guests: for double rooms. This small hotel has big fame because of that, but it’s not the only thing that makes it attractive. The Punta Grande hotel is situated in El Hierro, the most isolated island of the Canary islands, wrapped by a marvelous rocky landscape and with the sea splashing in front of their windows. The building in which the hotel is right now was previously a customs post that didn’t survive to the passing of time. For the actual decoration, a lot of objects from that office were rescued altogether with wrecks, which gave to it a very marine feel. The Punta Grande Hotel seems an ideal place for tasting the peace of the island.
