Exploration, Excitement, Experiences
This is what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course is all about. You don’t have to be “advanced” for doing it
– it’s designed for progressing in your diving, therefore you can start immediately once you have obtained your PADI Open Water Diver certification. This course will help you to build trust and widen your skills in scuba diving throughout different Immersions of Adventure. Try different specialties while you gain experience under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. You register immersions and develop capacities at the same time that you find new ways of having fun while diving.
Get credit! Each Immersion of Adventure can be helpful as a credit for the first immersion of the correspondent PADI Specialty Diver course. If you already have done a course in scuba diving’s specialty, ask your instructor if you have already got credit for an Immersion of Adventure.
Who can do this course?
The PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver that is at least 12 years old is prepared for taking the step and inscribing in an Advanced Open Water Diver course. Young divers can only participate in selected Immersions of Adventure Dives- Ask your PADI Instructor.
If you are already an Adventure Diver, you only need to complete two Adventure Immersions more for obtaining the Advanced Open Water Certification.
You will plan your learning schedule with your instructor choosing from a large list of Adventure Dives. There are two mandatory immersions- Depth and Subaquatic and Underwater Navigation- and you will choose the other three for doing a total of five immersions.
During the Deep Adventure Dive, you will learn how to plan for dealing with the physiological effects and the challenges of diving deeper. The Adventure of Underwater Navigation Dive polishes your navigation skills with a compass and helps you to navigate better using flapping cycles, visual references, and time.
The other knowledge and skills that you will acquire will vary with your interests and the adventures that you’ll have- photography, buoyancy control, drift diving, night diving, and much more.
In addition to using the basic diving equipment, you will also use specialized equipment depending on the Adventure Dives that you choose. For example, for night diving, you will have to use a diving torch or a lift bag for search diving. All that you need can be provided with your team renting.
